It’s just 50 days to go until our first ever community festival up here on campus!
We’ve found all kinds of ways to celebrate our 50th over the last year and our Festival in May is shaping up to be yet another day to remember.
On Saturday 6th May we’ll be welcoming everyone who lives locally to join us on campus for a day and see what we get up to here. The festival fun kicks off at 11am. It’s free and open to everyone.
Bring your family and friends up to campus and enjoy music, dance and food. Say hello to your colleagues by the lake. Take up a new sporting challenge. Have a go at street dance. Drop into a multitude of talks and demo’s on science, technology, health. We’ve even lined up a giant T-Rex!
There will be three zones to explore on the day: Active, Creative and Discover. Come and spend time on a part of campus you wouldn’t normally visit. Learn something new. Relax and have some fun.
Whether you could be the next Olympic Champion or you like things at a slower pace, the STV will be buzzing with all things Active. Try out a new sport (we’ve got 15 to choose from), browse the stalls, watch a match, bounce about on the inflatables and enjoy the BBQ and music. Then it’s ‘eyes up’ at noon to watch the The Red Devils free fall in.
Come and let your mind wander in our Creative Zone in the Edge Arts Centre. There’s lots to get your hands on – from chair making to tower building, arts and crafts and pottery. Let your creativity flow as you tap your way into one of our dance workshops and stroll through our exhibitions. Then, sit back and soak up the village fete atmosphere with our brass band.
Our Discover zone is all about hands on fun! Come and meet a robot, fly a drone, explore the universe, change a racing car wheel, and put our researchers to the test. See, do and learn something new. Hook a duck, hurl a coconut, grab an ice cream and head over to hear some great music near the lake.
We’ll be keeping you up to date with news and listings about the day. Tickets for talks and tours will be available soon.
Meantime, save the date, tell your family and friends and add go.bath.ac.uk/bathunifest to your email signature!
