Sponsored by the Royal Society of Chemistry, MICRA is biennial event which brings together junior inorganic chemistry academics from across the UK in a three day conference to aid their development into successful, independent researchers through networking and exchange of experiences.
Each participant delivers a talk on their background and current position and field of research. Representatives of the RSC and of the EPSRC will also be present to advise on available research funding routes. In addition, two to three established researchers of high standing are invited to reflect on their own career and share advice on how to become a successful academic.

- Transition metal coordination chemistry
- Main group chemistry
- Computational inorganic chemistry
- Metal catalysis
- Bioinorganic chemistry
- Solid state materials chemistry
