Marking the 50th anniversary of integrated design at the University of Bath, this international conference will focus on building our future through a more integrated approach to architecture, engineering and construction.

Our Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering has a unique character as the only such interdisciplinary department in the UK. We were founded in the 1960s on a philosophy of integrated design.

Participants will have the opportunity to debate developments in integrated design, be they retrospective, topical or future looking.

The event will cover a wide range of topics including:

  • Building performance and management
  • Integrated project delivery (IPD)
  • Integrating technologies (ICTs and BIMs) and mediated intelligence
  • Sustainability and resilience of our built environment
  • Retrofitting historic and heritage buildings
  • Universal design

Professor Anne Beim, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Denmark

Lady Professor Rachel Cooper, Lancaster University, UK

Rodrigo Rubio-Vollert, Chief Operating Officer, Arpro Arquitectos-Ingenieros S.A
